Most sites seems to offer some sort of dumb trial or offers, and will provide the free reports only if you give them your credit card number. What kind of crap is that?

annualcreditreport.com is the official government site. But they’ll ask for some form of id. If they ask for a cc# they aren’t going to charge sometime to it, just use it to verify that it’s really you asking.

I work for a Credit Union for 17 years, 5 years in their Visa dept., obviously VERY safety conscience.
The best and safest site to get all 3 reports for free, including your FICA score (very important), is.
You do not give any credit card information, but will need to give them enough personal information to verify it is really you requesting the reports. This includes your name, address and most importantly, your S.S.#. So make sure you are on a computer with a security system on it, just to be extra safe.
We used this site at the Credit Union daily for loan applications with no problems, ever.

You will get a peek at your credit report annually for free, BUT you will NOT get your FICO score for free. You have to pay for that.

All credit repair business are in it to make money, they could care less about you and your credit. There is only one way to clean up your credit and that is it works more to earn more money and spend less money so that you can pay off your debt. So earn more, spend less. Very simple, stays clear of those companies and take responsibility for your self.
