How good of a credit history do you need for an apartment?
Dr. Andrews asked:
I ran out of the 3 free credit reports today, and one agency said my score was 663.
I ran out of the 3 free credit reports today, and one agency said my score was 663.
I don’t want to run more than 1 because I’m afraid that will affect my score. I know that sometimes people use the mid-score. If one of my scores is 663, then conceivably, what is probably the lowest possible score?
In other words, what’s the typical spread between the high and low? Can we deduce the scores from the other agencies by knowing 1 score?
HELP! I really want this apartment.

As long as you do not show consistently late payments you should be okay. More important is what kind of reference will your last landlord give

checking your own credit will never hurt your score in fact your encouraged to check it as often as possible. it is only when lenders run your report that inquiries show up on your report. you have decent credit which will be good enough to rent an apartment. average scores vary about 20 points
