How can I get credit for my volunteer hours?

lirael1019 asked:

I need to do about 150 hours of community service; how do I receive credit for them? Are organizations used to issuing slips saying their volunteers did __ hours? Thanks!

Talk to a career counselor where you go to school. They should be able to tell you

Just have the organization write to your superior verifying that you had 150 hours, or make your own little log of when you worked and have them sign it, verifying that you did work those hours.

If this is court ordered community service they will determine when you do it and who you do it for.

If you haven’t received instructions from the court you need to contact the Clerk of the Court and ask them.

    Hello

To be sure that your community service time will be counted you might first get in contact with the agency requesting those community hours. You have to present them with the name, location, and telephone number of the agency where you are trying to do those hours. Once accepted, a person in charge will submit a daily or weekly report, stating the amount of hours worked.
