I have a credit score of 630 which is fair. Ive had a bankruptcy 1 yr. ago. how can I rebuild my credit?

I appiled for a credit card and was approved for a secured one with first preimer bank. The charge you even when you arent making and charges, they even charge if you are approved for a credit limit increase. Each time I apply for a line of credit with a nonsecured credit company I get rejected, but I get applications in the mail everyday. People have been telling me to finance a car to get my credit on track faster, but I am not ready for that responsibilty and besides I already have a car thats paid for. Will I ever be able to get approved for a decent credit card or moreless a mortage.

It’s tough since you’ve had a bankruptcy. In 6 more years, it will be easier to get credit once the bankruptcy gets of your credit report. All you can really do is pay all your bills on time.

I went through bankruptcy 8 years ago, it was horrible within the first 6 months. I applied for secure credit, what I did was pay my norml bills that could be paid with that card and then I paid it in full every month. Also anything that I bought with cash like auto fuel, clothes, food, I made an envelope and put the money in there and charged it on the card. I then paid it in full at the end of the month. After 6 months Capital one offered me a line of credit for 1000$. I took it and did the same with that, paid bills and all and paid the balance if full. So keep the faith and it will pan out. Just remember why you got in trouble the first time, plastic is not the real thing and when we have a nice amount of plastic avail. we abuse it at tims, that is the way we are trained. But we have to un the bad and start new ways of staying out of debt.
