erin.danu asked: I have very limited credit history. I started this January. I read that I have to get a few credit cards to build credit history. I have a secured card from Citibank which only has 200 credit limit. A Citibank secured loan for 500. Bank of America gave me 4000 CL for A Worlpoints Platinum Plus Credit Card. I have a ChaseFreedom Mastercard too. Thing is I’m preparing my credit history for a car loan. I applied for other credit cards in one day and got a few rejections… reason being having too much inquiry ( ok, i know i should have not made too many applications but i figured to just do it all at the same time) and too low credit line. But I never missed a payment, I only use 30% of my credit line and pay off more than the minimun balance.
Questions :
How bad will these inquiries affect my chances of a car loan?
How many months should I wait to have this fixed?
How can I increase my credit score?
Thanks!

Jen M asked: My fiance mailed out an application and $300 money order to USBank for a secured credit card yesterday. We were just curious if the bank could deny him, and if so, what would be some reasons? The bottom of the application says that it will be denied if the applicant is under the age of 18 or has filed bankruptcy, but are there other reasons he could be denied?

Pinklight asked: I applied for a credit card online…I received it, and decided that I didn’t really want it as the fees are just too high….It states that after 14 days tf the card is not activated, the card will be closed….I am assuming that unless you activate a credit card, it is like the account is never opened correct? Thanks…

MedeivelReign asked: I’m 25 and never had a credit card. I get denied for the regular card, and my bank doesn’t do secured credit cards… I’m a full time student and got turned down for the student card as well. I’ve seen applications online for secured cards that always ask for employer and salary. But I’m a student and would like to use some of my loans to start up some good credit. I’d only use it to pay for utilities and normal things, then pay it off each month.
Where can a student get a secured card?

Jen M asked: Our mortgage broker gave us some advice to raise our credit score quickly. Action number 1 was to prove we were never late on an account that has been reported as a 30 day late in October of 2006. We received proof from the lender, who apologized and said they would notify the credit bureaus (we are also sending in documentation with a dispute), Action number 2 was to obtain a secured credit card, which we mailed in the application and money order yesterday, and the app said it would be 7-10 days before we receive our acceptance letter, Action number 3 was to negotiate with a collector to delete an account in exchange for full payment. We called the collection agency, and told them that we had no clue what this account could be for, but that we are willing to pay it in exchange for deletion, and they declined. After that, we pulled up our own copy of the Transunion report and it said that account is estimated to be deleted this month. So, my question is, are credit scores refigured after each action on a report, or is it once a week, or once a month based on all actions during that time period?

Todd W asked: Anyone know where I can find a downloadable business use credit app? Preferrably in an MS word or Excel format. PDF fill in’s are okay too. This would be to secure a loan for things such as automobiles. I could make a fill in MS-Word type form, but it take a lot of time to do so. Thanks!

I’m from Romania and I wish to purchase something from the UK, something worth 18 pounds, including shipment. But how and how many other fees will there be(if any)? And after I send my credit card number to the store, what happens then? HELP

rubberduckehs asked: Okay, so I tried to apply for Capitol one first and it denied my application. Then I tried Bank of America and they also denied my application, but offered a secured credit card to me as a preapproval. Could it be because of the two student loans I borrowed? It’s not even disbursed to me yet though. What can I do to qualify? Am I doing something wrong? I am trying to establish credit because I have no credit history, besides the loans I just applied for school like last month and they’re not even given out to me until like August. Thanks
